मकवानपुरको मार्खु गाउँमा पर्ने इन्द्रसरोवर (कुलेखानी जलाशय) को किनार। काठमाडौँबाट आउनेहरूले तालवरिपरिका विभिन्न ठाउँमा आफ्नै टेन्ट टाँग्छन्, कतिपय ठाउँमा डुङ्गाबाट पुगिन्छ; गाउँका होटलहरूले पनि टेन्टमा बस्ने प्याकेज बेच्छन्। काठमाडौँबाट प्रायः फर्पिङ–कुलेखानी हुँदै करिब ४७ देखि ५० किलोमिटरको बाटो आइन्छ, जसमा उकालो कच्ची खण्डहरू छन्। असारतिर र वर्षायाममा तालको पानी धेरै घट्छ; शरद र वसन्त याम उपयुक्त मानिन्छन्। नक्साको चिन्हले मार्खुको डुङ्गा घाट नजिकको ताल किनार देखाउँछ, कुनै एउटै क्याम्पिङ ग्राउन्ड होइन; मानिसहरू ताल वरिपरिका विभिन्न ठाउँमा क्याम्प गर्छन्।

कसरी पुग्ने
- Markhu, Indrasarowar Rural Municipality-1, Makwanpur (about 450 m)
- Markhu boat landing; boats and motorboats run from here to Mohini waterfall; the Kulekhani dam closes the lake at its southern end.
- Pharping - Dakshinkali - Chhaimale - Kulekhani road from Kathmandu (about 47-50 km), or the Thankot - Chitlang - Markhu road.
- Uphill off-road sections and frequent road works on the way; allow about two hours from Kathmandu.

- The reservoir is drawn down before and early in the monsoon; the shoreline moves a long way and the lake can be nearly empty around June.
- Hotels and eateries in Markhu village just above the shore; fresh fish from the lake is the local dish.
- Hotels in Markhu sell tent stays as meal packages, among them Hotel Indrasarobar & Lodge and Samuhik Markhu Resort at the village, and Kulekhani Lake View Resort (shared tent Rs 1,800 per person in a 2022 listing).
