Platform terms

Plain-language terms for using campinnepal.

What campinnepal is

campinnepal is an information directory and an introduction service between campers and independent equipment vendors. We are not a party to any rental, do not own or inspect equipment, do not process payments, and do not guarantee that any location is open, safe, or permitted for camping.

Information

Information comes from open data, operators, and community members. It may be wrong, outdated, or incomplete. You are responsible for checking conditions, permits, and permissions before you travel. Coverage is incomplete; absence from the directory does not mean a place does not exist, and presence does not mean camping is allowed.

Rentals

  • A rental request becomes an agreement between you and the vendor when the vendor accepts it, on the price and policies snapshotted in the request.
  • Payment, deposits, refunds, late returns, loss, and damage are governed by the vendor’s stated policies and settled directly with the vendor.
  • Acceptance does not confirm payment. Any payment note on a request is the vendor’s own record.
  • We may help with information in a dispute but cannot guarantee refunds, equipment quality, or outcomes.

Vendors

Vendors must provide accurate contact details, describe equipment honestly, honour accepted requests, and comply with local law and tax obligations. We may suspend vendors for misleading listings, unresolved reports, or abuse. Verification badges state exactly what was checked and nothing more.

Buzz, partner finding and messages

  • Buzz posts, comments and messages are written by members, not by campinnepal. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break the community guidelines.
  • Partner posts introduce people to each other. We do not vet members, verify identity beyond the sign-in method, or supervise trips. Meeting or travelling with someone you met here is at your own risk.
  • A partner post may hide its author’s name from other members. We keep a record of who posted it.
  • Private messages are visible to the two people in the conversation. If either reports it, moderators may read it to act on the report.

Content and licence

You keep ownership of what you contribute and grant campinnepal a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display and adapt it within the service and in derived open data where the source licence requires it. Records derived from OpenStreetMap remain under the ODbL.

Accounts

You must be 16 or older, and 18 or older to post a partner post or use private messages. Keep your password private. We may suspend accounts that break the community guidelines. Moderation decisions can be reconsidered on request.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, campinnepal is provided “as is” and we are not liable for loss or injury arising from use of the information, from rentals arranged through the service, or from meeting people through it. Camping in Nepal, especially at altitude and during the monsoon, carries real risks that you accept when you go.
