Report what you saw, when you saw it
- Give the date you were there. A water report from last monsoon is different from one from this week.
- Say how you know. “Tap next to the shelter, running on 12 March” beats “water available”.
- If you are unsure, choose Unknown. Do not guess.
- Do not copy text or photographs from other websites, guidebooks, or Google. Only upload photographs you took.
Do not encourage harm
- No instructions for camping where it is prohibited, entering closed areas, or avoiding permit checks.
- No claims that a place is “safe”. Describe conditions and hazards with dates instead.
- Respect landowners, communities, wildlife, and sacred sites. Note where local permission is needed.
Reviews and ratings
- Review places you actually visited and vendors you actually rented from. Verified rental reviews are tied to completed rentals.
- Vendors may not review themselves or their competitors. Do not offer or accept rewards for reviews.
- One review per visit. Update an old review instead of posting a duplicate.
Buzz posts and comments
- Share what happened on your trip. Be kind to the people you are talking to and about.
- No harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, or content that targets someone for who they are.
- No advertising, selling, or repeated posts of the same thing. Gear for rent belongs in a vendor listing.
- Do not post anyone’s personal details. Phone numbers and email addresses are removed from public posts and comments.
- Photographs on a post about a campsite are checked by a moderator before they are shown.
Finding camping partners
- Partner posts and private messages are for people aged 18 or over with a verified account.
- Describe the trip honestly: where, when, how hard, and what you have or need.
- You may hide your name on a partner post. It is shown to a person only when you reply to them. campinnepal knows who posted, and moderators can see it when a post is reported.
- Meet in a public place first, and tell someone where you are going and with whom. Do not send money to someone you have not met.
- campinnepal does not check who people are beyond their sign-in. Deciding to meet or travel with someone is your own judgement.
Messages
- A first message is a request. You can send one, and write again only after the other person replies.
- If a request is ignored, leave it. Do not try to reach the person another way.
- Messages are private between the two of you. A moderator can read a conversation only when one of you reports it.
Blocking and reporting
- Blocking hides your posts and comments from each other and stops messages both ways. The other person is not told.
- Report posts, comments, people, or a conversation that break these guidelines. We aim to look at every report within 24 hours.
Points, levels, and badges
Points reward useful reviews, accepted corrections, original photographs, and reports others corroborate. Points are removed when content is removed. Levels never grant moderation powers and are not a professional qualification. Repeated, low-value, or duplicate contributions do not earn points and may be removed.
Moderation
Moderators may edit, remove, or restore content, resolve reports, and suspend accounts. Every moderation action is logged and can be reconsidered. If you disagree with a decision, reply on the notification you received or report the item again with your reasoning.
