About this place

Kakani Scout Camping Ground is in Nuwakot, Bagmati Province, Nepal, at 2,000 m elevation (operator). Camping permission: Ask the landowner (operator). No dated first-hand observation yet; details may be out of date.

The Kakani International Scout Centre is a Nepal Scouts training centre on a ridge at about 2,000 m, around 25 km north-west of Kathmandu, with a camping site that the Scouts say holds 500 people. It is open to non-scouts as well, but every stay is booked through the Scouts' headquarters in Lainchaur. The camping site has toilets, water, a kitchen and a dining hall, and the centre makes its own solar power and serves meals. Kakani village and its Himalayan viewpoint are a short walk to the west.
